Privacy Policy

ProResume is a resume and CV builder for iOS and Android. We built it with a simple privacy principle: your information belongs to you and stays on your device. We don't have a server that stores your resume data, we don't require an account, and we don't track who you are. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data when you use the app.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data you enter (stored only on your device)

ProResume saves the information you enter in a local database (SQLite) on your device. This data is never uploaded to us or anyone else. It includes:

• Full name and job title
• Email address, phone number, and physical address
• LinkedIn profile URL
• Work history: company names, positions, cities, start/end dates, and descriptions
• Education: schools, degrees, fields of study, GPA, and dates
• Projects: titles, descriptions, tech stacks, and URLs
• Skills with proficiency levels, languages with proficiency, and certifications with credential URLs
• References: names and contact information
• Volunteer experience and interests/hobbies
• Custom sections with your own titles and content
• Cover letter data: sender name, phone, email, address, and LinkedIn; recipient name; company name and address; and the letter body
• Job applications: company name, position, platform, job posting URL, notes, and interview dates
• User profiles: reusable packs of profile data you can apply to new resumes

1.2 Media you provide

• Profile photo — If you add a photo, it is taken with your camera or chosen from your photo library and stored in the app's internal storage on your device. It is never sent off your device.

1.3 App preferences (no personal information)

We store a few simple settings in local key-value storage so the app works the way you like. These contain no personal data:

• Onboarding completion flag
• Theme preference
• Language preference
• Review prompt counter

1.4 Data collected by our payments partner (RevenueCat)

To process in-app purchases and confirm whether you have premium access, our payments partner RevenueCat collects:

• An anonymous device/app user ID generated by RevenueCat for purchase tracking
• Your purchase history and subscription status

No resume data or personal information you enter into ProResume is ever sent to RevenueCat.

2. How We Use Your Data

• All data you enter and any photos you add stay strictly on your device.
• This data is used only to generate your PDF resumes and cover letters and to show you previews inside the app.
• PDFs are generated entirely on your device — there is no server-side rendering.
• Subscription and purchase data is used only to verify your premium access.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any server or third party, except for the anonymous purchase data sent to RevenueCat for purchase verification.

3. Permissions We Request

ProResume only asks for the permissions it needs to work. Here is what each one is for, by platform.

3.1 Android

• INTERNET — needed to verify in-app purchases with RevenueCat, to open the privacy and terms links in your browser, and to download fonts during PDF generation.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — lets the app reschedule your interview reminder notifications after your device restarts.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — used to show interview reminder notifications.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM — used to deliver reminders at an exact time (for example, 1 day before or 2 hours before an interview).

3.2 iOS

• Camera access — used only when you choose to take a profile photo. It is always initiated by you.
• Photo library access — used only when you choose to select a profile photo. It is always initiated by you.

4. Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat (via the purchases_flutter SDK) processes in-app purchases. It receives an anonymous device ID and purchase tokens. It does not receive your resume data. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Google Fonts (via PdfGoogleFonts in the printing package) may download font files when generating a PDF if a font is not already loaded. It does not receive your data or any identifiers. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store handle the standard in-app purchase flow and the in-app review dialog.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• All of your resume, profile, and application data is stored locally on your device.
• You can delete your data at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings, or by deleting individual items inside the app.
• RevenueCat retains purchase records according to its own data retention policy.
• There is no server-side user database — the app has no backend, so we hold nothing to delete on our end.

6. Children's Privacy

• ProResume is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).
• We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

7. Data Security

• All data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security, including encrypted storage and app sandboxing.
• No data is transmitted over the network except RevenueCat purchase tokens, which are encrypted using HTTPS.
• HTTPS is enforced and cleartext (unencrypted) traffic is disabled.
• No content you create is shared without an explicit action by you, such as tapping the Share button.

8. Your Rights

• Right to access: All of your data is on your device and is viewable within the app.
• Right to delete: You can delete individual items in the app or clear the app's data through your device settings.
• Right to data portability: You can export your resume data as a PDF. (A structured data export is not currently offered.)
• For RevenueCat purchase data: Contact us at support@proresumecv.app with your RevenueCat app user ID.

9. Changes to This Policy

• We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you through an app update or on our website.
• Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
